Here+Now: Students on Show

Here + Now was a show looking into the life and achievements of students working to promote the mission of SPUR, the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association.
Here and Now: Students on Show was on display at the SPUR Urban Center in San Francisco from July 26-August 27, 2010.

From addressing the most prevalent social and physical issues in our own backyard, to creating solutions for the world’s poor, local students are tackling the most significant issues facing our world today. Drawn from a range of graduate and undergraduate work produced in Bay Area schools, this exhibit included exemplary projects from the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, graphic design–among others– highlighting the groundbreaking work emerging from Bay Area regional institutions.

In addition to demonstrating the scope and diversity of studies and solutions, the work also captured the unique student experience, and the unmatched opportunity to think deeply, concretely, and globally about the many facets of the physical and social environment, and present ideas with freshness and vitality. Projects unite careful study, collaboration, and tremendous vision, with social and environmental stewardship, and the most current methods of research and design. Also included was the past work of SPUR’s Piero N. Patri Fellowship, SPUR’s annual fellowship for students of urban design.
