Hillsdale Station Area Plan

The City of San Mateo is working on a new plan for the Hillsdale Caltrain station, which is adjacent to both the existing Hillsdale Shopping Center and extensive new development at Bay Meadows.

The area surrounding the existing Hillsdale Station does not currently take advantage of its transit-orientation, with limited pedestrian connections to surrounding residential areas and the shopping center. Although neighboring Bay Meadows has seen significant investment, the El Camino Real corridor is ready for change. In this project, the project team will provided the City with the specific direction needed to create high-quality development with a variety of types of housing, new jobs, and connections between new and existing neighborhoods.
