Vacaville General Plan Update Outreach
These outreach materials were developed to help explain to residents of Vacaville, California the process for updating the City’s General Plan.
Surrounded by the farms and ranches of rural Solano County, the City of Vacaville has long been a bedroom community to both the Bay Area and Sacramento, thanks to its location midway between the two metropolitan areas. Residents in Vacaville enjoy the community’s small-town character, ties to an agricultural past, downtown amenities, and innovation and economic growth fueled by major life science and health companies located in the city’s industrial areas. The General Plan Update will provide the needed strategic and comprehensive land use, circulation, utility, and open space planning for two new development areas, and will also address a recently adopted Urban Growth Boundary, recent legal decisions on local development projects, and revisions to State General Plan Guidelines. The planning process will include meaningful public input aimed at shaping a Plan that will address the needs of the community and guide growth for the next 20 years.
I designed and developed the project branding, and applied it to a wide variety of outreach materials. I also and built an interactive website, which featured a detailed description of the project, a calendar of events, photo galleries, a document library, and other features.
